What is BRC and what is the meaning of it?
BRC is stand for British Retail Consortium
BRCGS is stand for British Retail Consortium Global Standards
BRC was founded in 1996 by retailers (ASDA, Sainsbury, Tesco, and other British retailers) who wanted to harmonize food safety standards across the supply chain.
Having BRC certificate with A Grade proves that Ocean Treasure are knowledgeable and professional to maintain a framework for managing the safety, quality and legality of products (specialized in frozen food) for non-manufacturing businesses in the food, packaging and consumer product industries.
More than BRC, Ocean Treasure also qualified by ASC, MSC
MSC= Marine Stewardship Council, an international non-profit organization, who recognize and reward efforts to protect oceans and safeguard seafood supplies for the future.
ASC= Aquaculture Stewardship Council, is an independent, international non-profit organization that manages the world’s leading certification and labelling programmer for responsible aquaculture.
Ocean Treasure’s Core Services — Quality Control and Loading
Ocean Treasure has our own team of inspector in China, Vietnam, India. For each order, we will provide you a detailed report based on the actual data. We offer full services of quality control to make sure your products are correctly processed, properly loaded, delivered on time, and in a suitable condition at arrival.
Pre-shipment Inspection (QC) service and Loading Service
IQF in Bulk: 20Kg random samples
IQF in Retail pack: 20 individual packs from 20 separated cartons.
Interleaved or block frozen: 6-8 blocks
Inspection details：
Temperature
Appearance
Gross weight, net weight, glazing check etc.
Specifications: Size, Counting, dimension and uniformity check etc.
Sensory evaluation: odor, texture, color (before & after defrosting), general freshness
Foreign matters
Cooking test
Check the cleanness of the empty container before loading
Ensure the container to be cooled down before loading, and record the temperature when loading starts
Record the specifications and quantity of each row during loading
Randomly pick up samples to check the product (only for frozen status)
Record the container number and seal number on the container lock
Full record of the loading process
Issue the loading supervision report to the customer within 24hrs (1 working day)
After the production is finished, we will assist during the container’s loading to ensure that the material is loaded under suitable conditions (temperature, loading method, positioning in the container). After the shipping out, we can provide you any additional document you require, and we will ensure you will receive the correct documents in time.
Ocean Treasure will carefully follow up on each of your orders and provide you all the necessary documentation (quality control report, health certificates, bill of lading, etc.). Moreover, we will ensure that the delivery time will be strictly respected by controlling the production time and shipment date.
